Bedtime

BEDTIME ROUTINE

  • In the 9pm-11pm timeframe, make sure they go out one last time.

  • After dark, take a peek into the yard first (flashlight by the door), sniff check for skunks, etc. Let the dogs out when you’ve confirmed the coast is clear.

    • Worst-case scenario — under the sink to the right are the magic de-skunking ingredients: dish soap, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide. May you never need to use them.

  • Whenever you go to bed, they will probably follow. Tuck a blanket under their chin (that’s the signal to “chill out”) and they’re good to go!

    • One (or both) of them occasionally wakes us in the middle of the night, needing to pee/poop. (The signs: Tina whines at you. Or Ellen gets up and rolls around on her back in the other bedroom.)
